Transform Your Personal Stories into Poetry at the 45th Sharjah International Book Fair
The 45th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) is set to return to the Expo Centre Sharjah from November 4 to 15, 2026. This year’s theme, "Made of Stories," highlights a massive gathering of 2,673 publishers from 124 countries, offering visitors a blend of literature, culture, and innovation. A standout feature for attendees is the new "Poets’ Corner," where guests can share their personal stories to be reimagined as poetry in both Arabic and English. Families are also well-catered for, with the "Future Hands District" providing an interactive space for children to explore various career paths through hands-on educational activities.
Beyond the bookshelves, the festival will host a rich cultural programme featuring 1,500 events, including theatrical shows like the musical "When Memories Sing" and the interactive science show "Impossible or Science?!." Oman, the event’s Guest of Honour, will play a significant role by showcasing its rich history and artistic heritage through a variety of performances, literary discussions, and culinary demonstrations. Additionally, the event welcomes back the Thriller Festival, gathering global crime writers for a series of high-stakes discussions, while those looking to sharpen their own creative skills can sign up for specialized writing workshops or catch live cooking demonstrations from international chefs.
