A Tragic Farewell: Father Prepares for Family’s Final Rites in Al Ain

Thu, Oct 15, 2026(2h ago)UAE

A grieving father, Swaroop Kanti Biswas, is currently making arrangements for the final funeral rites of his wife and teenage son following a devastating road accident in Abu Dhabi. According to officials from the Bangladesh Embassy, the family has decided to lay the mother, Oshima Chowdhury, and her 15-year-old son, Orittro Bishawsh, to rest in Al Ain. Biswas, who was recently discharged from the hospital after being treated for his own injuries, visited the embassy on Thursday to facilitate the necessary legal documentation.

The fatal incident occurred on Monday night near the Al Wathba Bridge on Al Ain Road. Reports indicate that the family’s vehicle was struck from behind by a speeding car, causing them to lose control and collide with a roadside barrier. While the mother and son tragically lost their lives at the scene, their bodies remain at the central morgue in Baniyas, Abu Dhabi, as officials finalize the paperwork required to proceed with the burial ceremonies.
