Seamless Connectivity: New Pedestrian Bridge Links Dubai Metro to Etihad Rail
Commuters in Dubai can now enjoy a more seamless travel experience thanks to a newly opened pedestrian bridge connecting the Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station directly to the Etihad Rail Al Yalayis Station. By providing an enclosed, climate-controlled walkway complete with escalators and moving tracks, this infrastructure eliminates the need for passengers to rely on taxis or cross busy roads to transfer between the Red Line and the inter-emirate rail network. The journey between the two stations takes approximately five to seven minutes, offering a convenient, car-free transit option for those traveling between Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Fujairah.
While the new bridge significantly improves accessibility, the existing shuttle bus service remains in operation, providing commuters with flexible choices based on their personal needs, such as carrying luggage or traveling with children. This development effectively integrates three major modes of public transport—the Dubai Metro, RTA buses, and Etihad Rail—into a single, unified hub. With clear signage guiding travelers from Exits 1 and 2 of the Metro station, the project marks a major milestone in Dubai’s public transport infrastructure, making inter-emirate travel easier and more efficient than ever before.
