Emirati Farmer Khadija Darwish Al Qubaisi Honored Among Top 100 Global Women in Agriculture
Khadija Darwish Al Qubaisi has achieved a remarkable milestone by being named one of the 100 women globally recognized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) for their transformative roles in agrifood systems. Representing the UAE, Al Qubaisi was visited at her Al Ain-based Nad Al Dhab farm by Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, the Minister of Climate Change and Environment, who personally delivered the news. This prestigious recognition underscores her dedication to sustainable farming and her efforts to champion smart agricultural practices within the region.
Beyond her individual success, Al Qubaisi is a driving force for community engagement and agricultural education. Through her "Khadija Initiative," she actively introduces younger generations to the importance of farming and empowers more women to enter the agricultural sector. Her commitment to modernization and food security has earned her national acclaim, including a top finish in the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Agricultural Excellence Award. She is set to be honored alongside other global pioneers at the FAO headquarters in Rome this October, highlighting the vital role Emirati women play in shaping a sustainable future for the nation.
