UAE Vows Firm Response to Future Iranian Aggression
A senior Emirati official has warned that the UAE is prepared to take all necessary actions to safeguard its national security and sovereignty should Iran launch further attacks. Speaking at the UAE Correspondents' Majlis, Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the FNCâs Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee, emphasized that "all options" remain on the table. This firm stance follows a series of regional escalations, including intercepted drone incursions near UAE territorial waters, which the government has repeatedly denounced as clear violations of its sovereign rights.
Despite the current tensions, Dr. Al Nuaimi expressed doubt that the conflict would mirror the protracted nature of the war in Ukraine, suggesting instead that a resolution could be reached before the end of 2026. While he noted that the path forward depends largely on the Iranian leadership's willingness to shift its strategy, he maintained that the UAE remains committed to seeking a diplomatic solution. He stressed that restoring any sense of trust between the two nations would require more than just empty dialogue; it would demand tangible, structural changes from Tehran that prioritize the welfare of its own citizens over continued regional confrontation.
