UAE’s First Free-Range Poultry Label Awarded to Sharjah Farm
In a significant achievement for the nation’s agricultural sector, Sharjah’s Fili Poultry Farm has officially become the first facility in the UAE to earn the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology’s free-range label. Operating under the Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production Establishment (Ektifa), the farm is being recognized for its commitment to high-quality, ethical farming practices. According to ministry officials, this certification not only validates the farm's compliance with rigorous national standards but also bolsters consumer trust in locally produced food, aligning with the country’s broader goals to enhance industrial competitiveness and food security.
The farm’s success is rooted in a unique, high-quality approach to poultry care, highlighted by a proprietary feed formula personally developed by the Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi. This specialized diet incorporates organic ingredients such as wheat, corn, and soybeans, further enriched with natural additives like turmeric, garlic, oregano, and frankincense. By raising slow-growing chickens without hormones, Fili Poultry Farm has set a new benchmark for the industry. As the UAE continues to invest in sustainable food production, this certification serves as a blueprint for other local farmers to adopt transparent, high-standard practices that appeal to health-conscious consumers.
