UAE Weather Update: Rain Forecast and Fog Alerts Issued

Sat, Oct 17, 2026(1h ago)UAE

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has predicted a mixed weather day for the UAE this Saturday, October 17. While conditions will generally be fair to partly cloudy, residents should prepare for potential rainfall, as convective clouds are expected to build up over eastern regions during the afternoon. Temperatures are forecast to climb, with both Abu Dhabi and Dubai likely to hit highs of 37°C, though some parts of the country could see the mercury soar as high as 41°C.

In addition to the heat and rain, authorities have raised red and yellow fog alerts due to high humidity levels, particularly expected overnight and into Sunday morning in coastal and inland areas. Motorists are advised to exercise caution, as visibility is expected to drop significantly. Winds will remain light to moderate for most of the day, though they may pick up speed—reaching gusts of up to 40kmph—as cloud cover develops, potentially kicking up dust. Sea conditions across the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are expected to stay relatively calm throughout the period.
