Minor Earthquake Off the Coast of Dibba Al Fujairah
On the evening of Friday, October 16, a subtle seismic event took place off the coast of Dibba Al Fujairah. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) confirmed that the earthquake registered a magnitude of 1.6, occurring at approximately 9:38 pm UAE time.
The movement was successfully captured by the UAE’s National Seismic Network. This specialized system remains in constant operation to track seismic activity not only within the Emirates but across the neighboring regions as well, ensuring that any tremors, no matter how slight, are documented.
