Dubai Police Safely Safeguard Lost Handbag for Returning Traveller

Sun, Oct 18, 2026(3h ago)UAE

A traveller recently experienced a major stroke of luck after accidentally leaving her handbag, filled with cash, a smartphone, and other valuables, at Dubai Airport just before her departure. Rather than facing a ruined trip, she was met with extraordinary support from the General Department of Airport Security. Upon discovering the bag, authorities acted quickly to verify its contents and locate the owner, proving once again that Dubai’s commitment to passenger security is world-class.

Brigadier Hamed Al Hashemi, Director of the General Department of Airport Security, explained that once the bag was secured, the team contacted the woman to coordinate its return. She was given the option to have the item shipped abroad, but she opted to retrieve it personally upon her next visit. When she finally returned to the UAE, the bag and its contents were waiting for her exactly as she had left them. Deeply impressed by the professionalism and integrity of the officers, she took to social media to express her gratitude, noting that the experience significantly boosted her confidence in the safety standards provided by the city.
