Tragic Road Accident Claims Life of Young Emirati Student
A heartbreaking road accident on Al Dhaid Road has claimed the life of a 20-year-old Emirati student from Ras Al Khaimah. The young woman, identified by her initials B.D.K.A., was traveling home from UAE University in Al Ain with a classmate when a fuel tanker suddenly veered into their lane, striking the side of their vehicle. While the driver survived with a broken hand, the student tragically passed away at the scene. Her family shared that she had originally planned to take a minibus home but opted for a private car instead as an act of kindness to accompany a friend, turning a simple carpool into a devastating loss.
Known for her gentle spirit and kindness, the student was deeply cherished by her peers, who noted that she had never had a single conflict throughout her entire life. Her funeral was held at Zayed Mosque in Ras Al Khaimah, followed by her burial at Al Oraibi cemetery. In response to the dangers posed by heavy vehicles in the region, Sharjah authorities have implemented strict measures to enhance road safety. These include redirecting truck traffic away from Al Dhaid’s city center and enforcing specific time-based bans on heavy vehicles during peak hours to prevent future tragedies and ensure the safety of all commuters.
