UAE Braces for Five Days of Unsettled Weather and Rain
Residents across the UAE should prepare for a wet week ahead as the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) predicts rainfall for the next five days. According to meteorologist Dr. Ahmed Habib, the country is currently under the influence of a low-pressure system arriving from the southeast, which is fueling convective cloud formation. While the eastern mountainous regions are expected to bear the brunt of the downpours, showers are also likely to shift toward major hubs like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain as the weather system moves throughout the week.
In addition to the rain, authorities have warned of potential hazards including localized hail and gusty winds reaching speeds of 50 km/h, which could impact visibility due to blowing dust. Dr. Habib specifically advised those planning trips to the mountains or wadis to exercise extreme caution due to the risk of sudden water runoff. Although the system is expected to lose some intensity by October 23, residual atmospheric moisture will likely keep conditions unsettled, resulting in lingering humidity and the possibility of mist or fog during the early morning hours.
