Dubai’s 'Red Carpet' Project Wins Global Recognition for Fastest Airport Processing
Dubai has revolutionized the airport experience with its innovative 'Red Carpet' project, earning the prestigious Dubai-it Award for its groundbreaking efficiency. By integrating advanced artificial intelligence, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has eliminated the traditional frustration of long immigration queues. Travelers at Dubai International Airport can now complete passport control in mere seconds without needing to present physical documents, a feat that has significantly boosted passenger satisfaction to an impressive 99 percent.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum praised the initiative for setting a new global standard, noting that the smart corridor is capable of processing up to 10 passengers simultaneously. With plans already underway to expand this technology throughout Terminal 3, the project serves as a prime example of the 'Dubai-it' philosophy—a vision that prioritizes both speed and high-quality execution. By turning ambitious concepts into reality, the initiative not only streamlines international travel but also establishes a scalable model for future government projects aiming to enhance public services through modern technology.
