Dubai Police Issue Urgent Alert Regarding Fake Part-Time Job Scams

Sat, Oct 24, 2026(1h ago)UAE

Dubai Police have issued a stern warning to job seekers regarding a surge in sophisticated online scams masquerading as legitimate part-time employment. As part of the Ministry of Interior’s "A Safe UAE Starts with Your Digital Awareness" campaign, authorities are highlighting how criminals prey on those seeking extra income by promising easy money. Genuine employment opportunities, the police noted, will always come from licensed businesses with transparent recruitment processes, clear terms, and verifiable physical addresses.

To avoid falling victim to these schemes, experts strongly advise against sharing sensitive banking details, personal identification, or one-time passwords (OTPs) with any prospective employer. A major red flag to watch for is a request to receive funds into your personal account and transfer them elsewhere for a commission, as this often indicates involvement in money laundering or other illegal financial activities. If you encounter a suspicious offer or receive unsolicited links via social media, you should immediately cease communication and report the incident via the Dubai Police eCrime platform or by calling 901.
