Extreme Heat Expected in UAE: Temperatures to Soar Toward 49ºC

Wed, May 27, 2026(45d ago)UAE

Residents across the UAE should prepare for another scorching day this Thursday, as the National Centre of Meteorology predicts temperatures could climb as high as 49ºC. While the morning will begin with fair conditions and some low-hanging clouds along the eastern coast, the afternoon will bring intense heat. Abu Dhabi is expected to reach a high of 43ºC, while Dubai will see temperatures hovering around 40ºC.

Despite the high heat, conditions will remain relatively mild overnight, with lows dipping to 27ºC in Abu Dhabi and 28ºC in Dubai, and as low as 22ºC in more interior regions. Light to moderate winds, blowing at speeds of up to 30 kmph, will provide some minor relief. Looking ahead to Friday morning, humidity is set to rise across coastal areas, while marine conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are expected to remain calm and slight.
