An Honest Act: Indian Expat Returns Dh100,000 Found in Dubai Parking Lot
In a remarkable display of integrity, an Indian expatriate named Mohammed Ali Sherakal Mohi recently demonstrated the true meaning of honesty in Dubai. While walking through a parking lot, Mohi stumbled upon a substantial bundle of cash totaling Dh100,000. Instead of keeping the windfall, he immediately documented the discovery and headed to the Al Raffa Police Station to surrender the money, ensuring it could be returned to its rightful owner.
Following a brief investigation, local authorities discovered that the money belonged to a shipping company owner who had accidentally dropped the envelope while rushing to his car after a bank withdrawal. The owner was completely unaware of his loss until the police contacted him just three hours later. To celebrate his upright conduct, officials at the Al Raffa Police Station honored Mohi for his exemplary behavior. Colonel Ahmed Obaid bin Hudaiba praised the gesture, noting that such actions highlight the strong culture of security and community trust that defines life in the UAE.
