Dubai Announces Eid Al Adha School Holiday Schedule
Private schools in Dubai are set to observe the upcoming Eid Al Adha holiday from Monday, May 25, through Friday, May 29. By incorporating the weekends on either side of these dates, students will enjoy a substantial nine-day break before heading back to the classroom on Monday, June 1. The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) confirmed this timing to align with the Ministry of Education’s mid-term break, offering pupils a well-timed rest period ahead of their final assessment phase.
Following the return to school in June, the academic calendar will ramp up quickly with mock exams scheduled for mid-month. Students can also look forward to an additional holiday for the Islamic New Year on June 17, followed by the end-of-term exams starting on June 24. The academic year will officially conclude on July 3. While these dates are set, the precise timing of Eid Al Adha remains subject to the sighting of the crescent moon, which will determine whether Dhul Hijjah begins on May 18 or May 19, potentially influencing key observances like Arafah Day.
