Sharjah Announces 10-Day Eid Al Adha Break for Private Schools
The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) has officially confirmed the upcoming Eid Al Adha holiday schedule for private schools across the emirate. Students are set to enjoy an extended 10-day break, commencing with the weekend of May 22–24, followed by official holidays from May 25 to May 28, and concluding with the weekend of May 29–31. Classes are scheduled to resume for all students on Monday, June 1.
This announcement follows similar directives from Dubai's Knowledge and Human Development Authority, which granted a nine-day break for students in the city. The mid-term recess is strategically timed to provide pupils with a necessary period of rest immediately before they enter the final assessment phase of the academic year. Meanwhile, authorities continue to monitor astronomical calculations to confirm the precise start of Dhul Hijjah, which will determine the exact timing of Eid Al Adha based on the sighting of the crescent moon.
