Patna Educator Khan Sir Granted Protection Amidst Coaching Rivalry
Prominent educator and YouTuber Faisal Khan, widely recognized as ‘Khan Sir,’ has been granted interim protection from arrest by a Patna district court. The legal development follows a June 2 incident where security guards at his institute, Khan Global Studies (KGS), allegedly opened fire after a group of around 20 people attacked the premises. While the court has permitted police to continue their investigation and questioning, they are currently barred from taking any coercive action against him. Meanwhile, authorities are still actively searching for the educator, while the bail plea for his rival, Raushan Anand of Gyan Bindu Coaching Centre, remains under review.
The violent clash underscores a deepening feud between Patna’s two largest coaching institutes, which dominate the Musallahpur area—a region often referred to as a "mini-Kota" due to its massive student population preparing for competitive exams. The rivalry, fueled by aggressive marketing and competing claims over successful students, has turned increasingly hostile, leading to frequent public disturbances. As the tension escalates into physical altercations and safety concerns for the 350,000 students in the vicinity, Bihar’s education minister has announced plans to implement new policies to regulate these institutes and curb the recurring law and order issues.
