Commemorative 'Patriot Passport' Features President Trump’s Likeness
To celebrate the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary of independence, President Donald Trump has revealed a design for a new, limited-edition American passport. Shared via his Truth Social account, the mock-up displays a stern-faced portrait of the President resting at his desk, set against the backdrop of the Declaration of Independence. The passport, branded as the "Patriot Passport," also includes a reproduction of a historic painting depicting the signing of the document in 1776, alongside the inscription "United States of America 250."
This initiative marks a historic first, as no sitting U.S. President has ever been featured on the country’s official travel documents. While the State Department previously noted that commemorative passports with custom artwork would be available starting in early July, details regarding this specific edition remain limited. The President accompanied the unveiling with a caption reading, "Welcome, but be good," continuing his trend of integrating his personal branding into government symbols and institutional assets, much like his recent efforts to place his signature on currency and his name on major cultural landmarks.
