Bahrain Accuses Iran of Systematic Aggression Following Recent Strikes
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a stern condemnation following a recent barrage of ballistic missile and drone strikes on its territory. Officials have dismissed the notion that these events are isolated, arguing instead that they represent a deliberate, systematic campaign by Tehran to undermine Bahrain’s national sovereignty. By continuing these hostile actions, the ministry asserts that Iran is blatantly disregarding international mandates, including United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, and failing to uphold previous diplomatic pledges to maintain regional stability.
This latest incident, which occurred on June 28, has prompted Bahrain to declare that Iran is in direct violation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, an agreement that was intended to permanently cease military operations in the region. Bahrain maintains that these provocations shift the burden of responsibility entirely onto Tehran for destabilizing the area. Consequently, the kingdom is now calling for an urgent UN Security Council session to enforce existing resolutions and hold the perpetrators accountable, emphasizing that under the GCC’s joint defense framework, these acts of aggression are viewed as a threat to the security of the entire Gulf bloc.
