A 5.29 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Sichuan, China
A seismic event measuring 5.29 on the magnitude scale jolted the Sichuan region of China this past Monday. The tremor, which was officially recorded by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), occurred in a seismically active part of the country.
According to data released by the GFZ, the earthquake originated at a relatively shallow depth of approximately 10 kilometers, or 6.21 miles. While shallow quakes can often be felt more intensely by residents on the surface, authorities are still assessing the situation to determine the full extent of the impact on the local area.
