Kuwait Authorities Shut Down Illegal Slaughterhouses and Make Multiple Arrests
Kuwaiti authorities recently conducted a targeted operation in the Kabd region, resulting in the closure of three makeshift slaughterhouses. During the raids, officials discovered that several livestock pens were being misused for unauthorized butchery, directly violating regulations set by the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources. These operations were running entirely off the grid, lacking the mandatory health permits and safety oversight required to ensure public hygiene.
Ten individuals, hailing from India and Bangladesh, were apprehended at the scene while actively engaged in slaughtering operations. The Ministry of Interior stated that these workers were operating in facilities clearly designated for other purposes, posing a significant risk to public health. Legal proceedings are currently underway against those detained, as the government continues its crackdown on illicit activities to maintain safety standards across the country.
