Tragedy in North Delhi: One Dead and Multiple People Trapped in Building Collapse
A devastating building collapse in the Rohini area of North Delhi on Wednesday afternoon has left one man dead and sparked an urgent search for several others believed to be buried under the rubble. Local authorities were alerted to the incident at a construction site in G Block, Sector-16, around 4:30 pm. Emergency responders quickly evacuated neighboring properties to secure the scene, allowing specialized teams—including the NDRF, Delhi Fire Service, and municipal officials—to begin a large-scale rescue operation using heavy-duty cranes and JCBs to clear the debris.
Tragically, 42-year-old Ram Kishore was pulled from the wreckage and later pronounced dead at the hospital, while another worker, 35-year-old Ravi, was successfully rescued. Officials remain deeply concerned for the others still unaccounted for, including the building's owner, Ram Dua, and several other laborers. In a glimmer of hope amidst the chaos, rescue teams have established contact with at least one survivor trapped deep within the structure, providing him with oxygen and hydration while working tirelessly to extract him safely.
