Blaze Erupts at Mini-Refinery in Western Iran
A significant fire broke out on Friday evening at the Oxin Palayesh mini-refinery, located in the Lorestan province of western Iran. According to reports from the semi-official Tasnim news agency, the blaze started just after 5pm local time, quickly sending plumes of thick, dark smoke billowing over the Poldokhtar area. Emergency responders, including firefighters and specialized rescue teams, were immediately dispatched to the site with heavy machinery, but crews initially struggled to reach the heart of the inferno due to the intense scale of the flames and the presence of highly combustible industrial materials.
Despite the intensity of the incident, local authorities have confirmed that there have been no casualties or injuries reported thus far. The deputy governor of Lorestan indicated that while investigations are ongoing, initial signs suggest the fire may have originated in the facilityâs raw materials sector. Officials are currently looking into the possibility of negligence as a contributing factor, though a final determination regarding the cause will remain pending until the blaze is fully brought under control and investigators can safely inspect the site.
