Qatar Declares Four-Day Mourning Period Following Death of Former Amir
Qatar has officially declared a four-day mourning period in honor of the late Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani. According to an announcement released by the Amiri Diwan, this period of national remembrance is scheduled to commence on Sunday, July 12. As a mark of respect, flags across the country will be lowered to half-mast throughout the duration of the mourning.
To observe this time of national grief, the government has suspended operations across all public institutions, ministries, and state agencies. This workplace closure will officially begin on Monday, July 13, and is expected to conclude at the end of the week. Employees in the public sector are slated to return to their regular duties on Sunday, July 19.
