Kuwait Reports Drone Strike on Oil Platform Amid Regional Tensions
Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence confirmed on Sunday that the country faced a series of coordinated attacks, including a drone strike on an offshore oil platform that left one worker injured. In addition to the offshore incident, three military border posts in the northern region sustained material damage. Authorities have since confirmed that the injured employee is currently receiving medical care, while security forces have mobilized to secure the affected areas and investigate the breach.
The escalation comes against a volatile backdrop of intensifying regional conflicts involving Iran and the United States. Following recent strikes by Tehran against several neighboring nations—which Iran framed as a retaliation for perceived American aggression—Kuwaiti officials noted that they had previously intercepted unidentified aerial targets within their sovereign airspace. As regional tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz continue to rise, the Kuwaiti Armed Forces have declared a state of high readiness, vowing to take every necessary measure to defend the nation's borders and infrastructure from further threats.
