Fatal Stabbing Attempt Against Kuwaiti Police Officer Ends in Attacker's Death

Mon, Jul 13, 2026(9h ago)World

A routine traffic stop in the Ali Sabah Al Salem area of Kuwait took a violent turn when a suspect with an active arrest warrant lashed out at law enforcement. While officers attempted to take the man into custody, he resisted and drew a knife, inflicting serious stab wounds to the officer’s neck and thigh. In order to stop the immediate threat and protect their colleague, the other patrol officers were forced to open fire on the assailant.

Both the officer and the suspect were rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Tragically, the assailant did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead at the medical facility. The wounded officer underwent surgery and remains under professional care as he recovers from the attack. Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has officially launched an investigation into the incident, and standard legal protocols are currently being followed to determine the full circumstances surrounding the confrontation.
