Tragedy Strikes: Dozens Dead in Devastating Bus Collision in Syria
A devastating traffic accident has claimed the lives of 35 people, with at least 30 others sustaining injuries, following a violent collision between two buses on the highway connecting Deir Al Zor to Damascus. According to reports from the state news agency Sana, the crash involved a civilian passenger vehicle and a second bus transporting members of the Internal Security Forces.
Emergency response teams, including helicopters from the Defence Ministry, were quickly mobilized to the scene to aid in the rescue efforts. The survivors and the deceased were transported via Palmyra airport to a military hospital located in Homs. In the wake of the disaster, Foreign Minister Asaad Al Shaibani expressed his deepest sympathies to the victims' families, offering prayers for the speedy recovery of those currently undergoing medical treatment.
