A blaze that erupted early Sunday morning at Saudi Aramco’s Jazan refinery in the country’s southwest has been successfully extinguished by industrial security teams. The Saudi Energy Ministry confirmed the news via social media, reporting that no injuries occurred during the incident. While officials have initiated the necessary procedures to assess the site, they have yet to release specific details regarding the origin or cause of the fire.

Located near the Red Sea border with Yemen, the Jazan facility is a critical piece of infrastructure capable of processing 400,000 barrels of crude oil daily. The plant has previously faced operational disruptions, including a shutdown in late July following strikes by Houthi militants that impacted its gasification and storage sectors. Although Aramco CEO Amin Nasser recently noted that such attacks have caused minor production interruptions, he emphasized that the company remains confident in its ability to restore operations quickly without suffering significant financial or material damage.
