Kuwaiti Authorities Crack Down on Illegal Reconditioned Tyre Operation
Kuwaiti authorities have successfully shut down an illicit operation in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area involving the sale of dangerous, second-hand car tyres. Following a period of careful monitoring and surveillance, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior’s Farwaniya Criminal Investigations Department, raided a warehouse where 390 used tyres were being processed.
The investigation revealed that the facility was equipped with specialized machinery designed to clean, polish, and artificially renew old tyres to make them appear functional for unsuspecting buyers. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Department has since issued a formal seizure report against the warehouse. Officials confirmed that legal proceedings are currently underway to hold those responsible for the deceptive and hazardous operation accountable.
