The Saudi Ministry of Commerce has initiated a significant safety recall involving 27,360 Chevrolet vehicles due to a dangerous defect in the driver-side airbag inflator. The affected models include the Cruze (2012–2018), as well as the Trax and Aveo (2010–2017). Authorities warn that the inflator could malfunction during a collision, potentially spraying sharp metal shrapnel inside the cabin and posing a severe threat of injury or death to occupants.

General Motors, along with local partners Aljomaih Automotive Company and Universal Motors Agencies, are coordinating the recall. Owners are strongly encouraged to visit the official Recalls.sa portal and input their vehicle identification number (VIN) to determine if their car is part of the affected batch. This announcement follows a recent safety recall of 96 Audi Q5 vehicles, underscoring the Ministry’s continued commitment to enforcing strict automotive safety standards across the Kingdom.
