Reports have emerged indicating that the captain of a recent Air India flight from Phuket to Delhi has tested positive for marijuana in a follow-up laboratory screening. This development follows a concerning mid-air incident where the Airbus A320neo experienced a sudden altitude drop of roughly 300 feet while flying over Odisha. While the aircraft ultimately landed safely in Delhi carrying 137 passengers and eight crew members, the event left 13 passengers and four crew members with injuries, prompting an immediate investigation by Indian aviation authorities.

In response to the gravity of the situation, the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation has summoned Air India CEO Campbell Wilson to address the circumstances surrounding the flight. Although initial reports regarding the pilot’s drug test results have surfaced across various news outlets, the airline has stated it has not yet received formal confirmation of the findings.
