India Strengthens Railway Ties with Bangladesh Through Customised Coach Delivery
The Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala has hit a major production milestone by completing a rake of 19 specialized LHB broad gauge coaches destined for the Bangladesh Railway. This delivery, consisting of a mix of AC sleeper cars, AC chair cars, non-AC chair cars, and power cars, highlights a growing partnership between the two nations that dates back to a successful supply contract in 2015-16. These carriages have been meticulously engineered to meet specific operational demands and unique passenger needs, marking a significant advancement in cross-border infrastructure collaboration.
To ensure comfort and safety, these coaches are packed with passenger-centric innovations, including reclining chairs with stainless steel fittings, dedicated prayer rooms, baby care facilities, and integrated CCTV surveillance. Engineers have also implemented practical modifications, such as reinforced roofing to accommodate high-traffic periods and a specialized 415 V electrical system tailored for Bangladeshâs power infrastructure. By blending functionality with enhanced passenger amenities, these custom-built coaches represent a thoughtful upgrade designed to improve the travel experience for commuters across the border.
