Stargazing in Oman: 332 Perseid Meteors Captured in Perfect Conditions
On August 13, 2026, observers in Oman witnessed a spectacular display as 332 Perseid meteors streaked across the dark, moonless night sky. The count, conducted by a dedicated team from the Oman Astronomical Society, began at midnight in a location carefully selected to avoid light pollution. Activity surged throughout the early morning hours, climbing from 42 sightings between midnight and 1:00 AM to a peak of 108 meteors recorded between 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM.
