Celebrating the Contribution: UAE Honors 2.2 Million Pakistanis on Independence Day

Fri, Aug 14, 2026(2h ago)World

As Pakistan marked its Independence Day on August 14, officials highlighted the significant role played by the 2.2 million-strong Pakistani community in the UAE. During ceremonies held in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, ambassadors and consulate officials praised the expatriate population for their dedication to both their host country’s development and Pakistan’s economic stability. Describing the UAE as a "cherished second home," diplomats expressed deep gratitude to the Emirati leadership for their continued hospitality and emphasized that the bond between the two nations remains strong across political, cultural, and economic spheres.

Beyond the celebrations, which included flag-hoisting ceremonies and an art exhibition honoring Muhammad Ali Jinnah, officials urged community members to remain exemplary representatives of their nation. Leaders emphasized the importance of upholding UAE laws, traditions, and professional values to maintain a positive global image for Pakistan. By encouraging the use of formal banking channels for remittances and maintaining high standards of civic responsibility, the Pakistani missions reinforced that every individual plays a vital part in strengthening the lasting partnership between the UAE and Pakistan.
