Kuwaiti Authorities Thwart Sophisticated Crystal Meth Smuggling Attempt
Kuwaiti law enforcement recently intercepted a major drug smuggling operation, seizing approximately 2kg of crystal methamphetamine hidden within a shipment of books. The General Department for Drug Control uncovered the illicit cargo after noticing irregularities in the pages of what appeared to be ordinary reading materials. An Asian national linked to the shipment has been taken into custody, and authorities are now working with international counterparts to track the origin of the contraband.
This operation reflects the Ministry of Interior's ongoing commitment to evolving its surveillance tactics to combat increasingly creative trafficking methods. The recent bust follows another significant enforcement action on August 10, where a local resident was arrested for running an illegal marijuana cultivation facility in the Doha region. During that raid, officers confiscated 6 kilograms of marijuana, hashish, specialized growing equipment, and a substantial amount of cash, signaling a broader, aggressive crackdown on narcotics throughout the country.
