Pakistan Supreme Court Orders Hospital Transfer for Ex-PM Imran Khan
In a significant legal development, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has directed authorities to transfer former Prime Minister Imran Khan from his current jail facility to Shifa Hospital. This decision follows a petition filed by the former leader requesting medical attention, which was heard by a three-member bench presided over by Justice Shahid Wahid, alongside Justices Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Ishtiaq Ibrahim.
The court’s directive aims to ensure that Khan receives appropriate medical care under proper supervision. Beyond the hospital transfer, the bench has also granted permission for the former prime minister to hold weekly meetings with his family members, marking a notable shift in his custodial conditions.
