Tragedy in Kenya: Helicopter Crash Claims Lives of Tourists
A tragic helicopter crash occurred on Wednesday morning in Kenya’s Samburu County, resulting in the loss of all passengers on board. The aircraft, which had departed from the Loisaba wildlife reserve, went down near the base of the iconic Mount Ololokwe. Emergency response teams, including the Kenya Red Cross and other specialized agencies, were immediately dispatched to the rugged site, where thick black smoke was seen rising into the air shortly after the impact at approximately 9:13 am local time.
While official reports have yet to confirm the exact number of victims or their nationalities, local media outlets have indicated that seven tourists were on the flight when it went down. The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the disaster, noting that the area is a frequent destination for sightseeing flyovers. This heartbreaking incident follows another fatal helicopter crash that occurred in western Kenya earlier this March, which claimed the lives of six individuals, including a member of parliament.
