Lebanese TikTok Sensation 'Doctor Food' Arrested in Drug Trafficking Case
Lebanese authorities have taken social media influencer Georges Dib, widely known as "Doctor Food," into custody following a raid at his home in the Akkar governorate. Dib, who boasts over eight million followers on TikTok, had been living as a fugitive after receiving a life sentence in absentia for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking. Sources indicate he will now be transferred to a detention center in Mount Lebanon to face a new trial regarding additional narcotics charges.
The legal trouble stems from a major operation two years ago when officials discovered confectionery products manufactured in Dibâs factories that were laced with illegal substances. These items were reportedly intercepted at Beirutâs international airport while being prepared for shipment to the Gulf. Despite the serious nature of the accusations and an existing warrant for his arrest, Dib remained active online, using his platform to deny the allegations. His arrest follows a tumultuous period in his public life, which recently saw high-profile headlines regarding his divorce from fellow influencer Shorouk.
