Kerala Bride Turns Lifesaver: Doctor Treats Catering Staff During Her Own Wedding

Wed, Aug 26, 2026(2h ago)World

A wedding day is typically filled with nerves and celebration, but for Dr. Shirin Subair, it also became a moment to uphold her professional oath. During her August 19 nuptials in Kannur, Kerala, the bride didn't hesitate when two catering staff members suddenly fell ill. Despite being dressed for her big day, she immediately stepped into her role as a physician, treating one woman for a nosebleed and another for an acute episode of dizziness.

Dr. Subair’s quick thinking—pinching the patient’s nose to stop the bleeding and elevating the legs of the dizzy staffer—quickly went viral, winning the hearts of thousands online. While social media users lauded her for prioritizing humanity over her own wedding festivities, the doctor remained remarkably humble. She insisted that her actions were simply the "bare minimum" responsibility of any medical professional, noting that she checked on the women without a second thought, just as she would during any ordinary day at the clinic.
