A devastating fire broke out at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad, resulting in the tragic deaths of at least 15 infants. According to reports from local broadcaster Geo TV, the blaze was reportedly sparked by a technical malfunction within the facility's air conditioning system. Emergency teams were dispatched immediately to the scene to conduct cooling operations and secure the premises.

At the time the fire erupted, 16 newborns were being cared for in the hospital's gynaecology ward. While authorities and emergency responders worked to evacuate the area, only one infant was successfully rescued from the flames.
