Following a devastating flash flood in Nepal’s Rasuwa district, authorities are scrambling to locate hundreds of missing travelers. According to the Nepal Tourism Board, roughly 384 people—including 291 foreign nationals and 93 locals—have been reported missing after the Bhote Koshi River surged unexpectedly on Wednesday morning. Among those unaccounted for are approximately 105 Indian citizens, with another 37 NRIs reported missing from the Himalayan Glacier region. Emergency responders, including the Nepali Army and police, have deployed 14 helicopters to conduct urgent search-and-rescue operations across the impacted areas.

While rescue teams have successfully pulled at least 25 individuals to safety, the situation remains critical, and at least seven fatalities have already been confirmed. In response to the crisis, the Nepal Tourism Board and the Indian Embassy have issued emergency contact details to assist those searching for loved ones. Officials are urging tourists in the region to remain calm and follow safety instructions provided by local authorities as they continue to verify the status of those affected through coordination with travel agencies and ground teams.
