Kuwaiti Authorities Crack Down on Government Stamp Fraud

Fri, Aug 28, 2026(1h ago)World

A joint operation between Kuwait’s Criminal Security Affairs Sector and Interpol has led to the arrest of two hospital employees involved in a sophisticated scheme to defraud the state. The investigation began when a security guard of Egyptian nationality was apprehended for possessing a cache of counterfeit government stamps while working at a public hospital. His subsequent interrogation pointed investigators toward a Kuwaiti female colleague who was actively involved in the illicit operation.

The investigation revealed that the pair had been abusing their positions within the medical facility to embezzle public funds. The female suspect confessed to a systematic process of stripping used stamps from existing hospital paperwork and recycling them for new transactions, effectively bypassing official payment channels. Authorities recovered the fraudulent materials, and both suspects have since been referred to the judiciary to face formal legal charges for their role in the misuse of state funds.
