A harrowing video captured by a construction worker in Nepal’s Rasuwa district has gone viral, offering a chilling first-hand perspective of a massive landslide triggered by recent flooding along the Nepal-Tibet border. The footage shows the worker, identified as Vivek Shrestha, filming alongside colleagues near a hydroelectric project site when the landscape suddenly shifts. As the roar of rushing mud and debris intensifies, the scene quickly devolves into a desperate race for survival, with Shrestha audibly panicking while he and his coworkers scramble to reach higher ground.

This disaster is part of a much larger regional catastrophe, as flash floods and mudslides have devastated areas across the Himalayas, leaving thousands stranded and infrastructure, including essential roads and bridges, completely destroyed. Following the incident, rescue efforts were launched, and Shrestha was eventually evacuated by helicopter alongside more than 100 others.
