Tragedy in Times Square: Two Dead Following Stabbing Attack

Tue, Sep 1, 2026(2h ago)World

A violent incident unfolded in the heart of New York’s Times Square on Monday afternoon when a 49-year-old woman, identified as Pamela Cisneros, went on a stabbing rampage in broad daylight. Armed with two large kitchen knives pulled from a grocery bag, Cisneros attacked two unsuspecting pedestrians, a 68-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman, both of whom suffered abdominal wounds. Tragically, the 32-year-old victim later succumbed to her injuries, while the man remains in stable condition at a local hospital.

Law enforcement responded immediately to the scene, attempting to de-escalate the situation through dialogue for several minutes. According to Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch, the suspect refused to surrender her weapons and made threats against the responding officers. After unsuccessful attempts to subdue her with a stun gun, police were forced to open fire, resulting in the suspect’s death. Authorities have confirmed that they do not believe the incident was an act of terrorism, and they are currently working to notify the families of the victims before releasing their identities.
