A fresh wave of violence has erupted in southern Lebanon, leaving at least four people dead and twenty others wounded, including several women and children. The strikes were initiated by Israel following a drone attack by Hezbollah aimed at soldiers stationed within Israel’s self-declared security zone. According to Lebanese officials, the casualties occurred across multiple locations, including Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Arab Salim, where heavy shelling destroyed homes and damaged local infrastructure, including a long-defunct hospital and several civilian businesses.

The Israeli military justified the offensive as a direct response to what it labeled a "blatant violation" by Hezbollah forces. Prior to the attacks, Israel issued a rare evacuation warning for a specific facility in Arab Salim; however, reports from the state-run National News Agency indicate that subsequent strikes hit additional residential buildings not covered by that notice. While violence in the region had tempered following a series of diplomatic agreements earlier this summer, these latest incidents highlight the extreme fragility of the current situation as both sides continue to exchange fire along the border.
