Among the content initially taken down were updates regarding Onam festival bonuses for ASHA workers and official greetings for Milad-un-Nabi. While the posts are now visible again, the incident has sparked significant alarm regarding the reliability and security of verified government communication channels on social media.

Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan expressed his frustration over the arbitrary nature of the removals, which he believes highlights a dangerous vulnerability in how tech platforms manage government-verified accounts. In response, the Chief Minister’s Secretary, Rattan U. Kelkar, has formally reached out to both Meta and the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The administration is now demanding a comprehensive explanation, specifically seeking to clarify whether the takedowns were the result of a flawed automated algorithm or a deliberate manual intervention. The state is urging both the platform and the central government to take measures to prevent such disruptions from recurring.
