Qatar to Streamline Sweetened Drink Registration via Digital Platform
Starting November 1, 2026, Qatar is set to overhaul its registration process for sweetened beverages by shifting to a fully electronic system. The General Tax Authority (GTA) announced that taxpayers will no longer be required to manually upload analysis certificates. Instead, the entire workflow will be integrated into the Dhareeba platform, simplifying the submission process for businesses involved in the distribution of these products.
To register a product, taxpayers must first initiate the request on the Dhareeba portal and provide samples to labs that are both accredited by the Ministry of Public Health and recognized by the GTA. Once testing is complete, the labs will automatically sync the results and certificates directly into the platform. By removing manual document handling, the government aims to minimize paperwork, decrease errors, and significantly accelerate the overall registration timeline as part of its ongoing initiative to modernize digital public services.
