Two Individuals Detained with Firearm at PM Modi’s Mumbai Event Venue
Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled appearance at the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai, authorities apprehended two individuals at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre. The security breach involved a 24-year-old man who reportedly attempted to gain access by falsely claiming to be an official from the Prime Minister's Office. He was accompanied by an associate acting as a bodyguard, who was found to be in possession of a firearm at the time of the detention.
Following the arrests, the Mumbai Police promptly handed the case over to the Crime Branch for a comprehensive investigation. While security forces remain on high alert, the Prime Minister proceeded with the inauguration of the seventh edition of the Global Fintech Fest, a premier international conference for the financial technology sector. Officials are continuing to probe the motives behind the incident as the event carries on under tight surveillance.
