Saudi Arabia has officially unveiled plans for a massive tourism and residential development situated along the Al Khafji coastline. Spanning 20 square kilometers with a picturesque 10-kilometer stretch facing the Arabian Gulf, this ambitious venture is designed to meet the rising demand for high-quality accommodation and leisure experiences in the country's northern Eastern Province. The project is being spearheaded by the newly formed Gulf Coast Development Company, a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), which aims to drive progress by collaborating closely with private sector partners.

The destination is set to be a significant economic and social hub, featuring three distinct neighborhoods equipped with 16,000 housing units and approximately 1,400 hotel rooms. Beyond residential and lodging capacity, the development will include a full array of public, educational, and commercial amenities, alongside dedicated boat marinas to boost maritime tourism. Construction is scheduled to roll out in three phases, with the initial phase slated for completion by 2030. Strategically positioned to attract both local Saudi travelers and international visitors from neighboring Gulf countries, the project promises to revitalize local infrastructure and create lasting growth opportunities for the community in Al Khafji.
